-History-

Blaze, much like his sister RJ, was brought up on an island away from regular civilisation. After the barrier covering the island was destroyed and RJ found to be missing, Blaze set out after her, fearing for her safety. Instead, what he found was RJ fitting into her new world perfectly. Blaze tried many times to convince her to come back, but instead he found himself enjoying this new place and accepting all the endless and exciting possibilites he had been deprived of before. He decided not to go back and instead expand his knowledge, while watching out for his little sister.

-Personality-

Blaze is a typical big brother in many ways- he's always trying to get RJ to behave, and is always looking out for her. Blaze can be a little too strong and come off as mean-spirited and egotistical sometimes unfortunately.

When it comes to exploring new things, Blaze can be hesitant, preferring to stick to what he knows. From this he has developed a strong sense of pride in his family traditions and loyalty. However, after leaving the island, this has changed and Blaze is more accepting than before.

Unlike his sister, Blaze is more cynical and pessimistic than optimistic. He has no shame in expecting the worst from strangers and the world around him. This has led to his close watch over RJ, seeing as she is so open and caring to anyone she comes across.

Underneath his aloof exterior is the Blaze only RJ and the others from his home island know about- the kind and loving brother who will do anything for his little sister. He only wishes that she would get a mobile phone so he could keep in touch more easily. He worries more than he should sometimes.

-Facts-

• Blaze always wears his bandana, as it was a present from RJ when they were little.
• The Joybringer family has always had at least one Elementalist for each generation of Elementalists born.
• Blaze's bonded element is fire.
• Although being 'bonded' to fire, he is able to use any of the other 5 elements.
• Blaze will only ever eat peanut butter on toast for breakfast.
• Althought Blaze and RJ were born on the same day, he still calls RJ his little sister.

-A little insight into Blaze from the creator-

The concept of Blaze has been around for quite a while, ever since I made RJ really. At the beggining however, he wasn't exactly the same caring squirrel he is now. His aloof-side of personality is remnant of that.

Blaze's change came about as a result of wanting to base him more off my own brother, who, ironically, is actually younger than me (and my brother loves tomato sauce more than peanut butter). I guess the change also came about as not only wanting to base him off my own brother, but what I think a big brother "would" be like if I had one.

I'm glad with how Blaze turned out though, and I really hope that he can become as much a loved character as RJ herself.
